Spud, we have been having a difficult time with the web page. At a
certain point in uploading, we would get "fatal error" messages. At
which point Joy, would check her work and finding nothing wrong, would
try again with the same results. (Joy also is responsible for several
other web sites and during this time has had no problems.) It was all
the more frustrating because Earth Link has outsourced their tech help
to India and and it was impossible to even understand what they were
saying. That brings us to today when, after receiving your inquiry,
we decided to have another look at the problem. A few minutes ago we
got hold of a tech rep we could understand who tells us that our 20
MB web site is very nearly full and that may causing the error
message. So we have purchased more capacity (200 MB) and by later
today it should be available to us. We will test the site by
uploading the remaining back issues of the TT tonight. Hope it works.
Each time something new is posted, I will announce it here.
I appreciate your frustration. I feel the same way. Jerry

Tailwind Times issue 11 pdf has been repaired and should work now.
Those who tried to upload this earlier today should throw away the
previous file and empty cache before downloading the repaired version.

Fred
We missed you at the fly-in. It was pretty murky with the smoke getting there
in the morning, but really cleared significantly in the afternoon. Going back,
the further north we went the better, and was 20-30+ miles vis. around Sacramento.
Even had a tailwind going back so we covered the ground at a pretty good
clip--about 190-195 MPH.
Dennis had no problem keeping up with me in his O-300 W-10. I want to get my other
prop refinished and try again to see if I have any chance of out running
him.
We had a great time at Fresno, and I want to specially thank Chuck and Bill for
hosting. They are planning again next year too. The food was excellent too.
Maybe one of these years we can have a W. Coast flyin with just the beautiful
weather we have 90% of the time--with no IFR smoke or 45 MPH wind conditions
;
)
I have a few pictures to post when I get the cord and get them off of the camera,
and I am sure others will too. I hope Chuck or Bill will post the attendance
list. It was sure good seeing everyone there.
Dave

Yo Chuck and Dave..... We were socked in IFR yesterday because of smoke from
the fires to the east of us.... Hoping the winds will come up from the west
to clear us out. No way we could have flown yesterday... Too dark at the moment
to tell what will happen later this morning. Good thing Fresno was selected
for the event. I will fly down in the Rans S7 Courier... The Tailwind is in
the middle of an annual and I haven't been here to finish it up. Hope to get
it buttoned up next week.
How many Tailwinders are going to show up? Is George coming up from Phoenix?
No Presidential TFR's to deal with now....

The pile of wood is getting smaller and the stack of ribs is getting taller. That
means progress. Have 20 main ribs made so far and will start on the four compression
ribs and two root ribs next week.
