Yea the weather has been really terrible all around this area the last couple of
months. Wally was going to try to come through last week but there was all that
gulf moisture around the east and north of the whole state. I'm going to try
to make it to Ohio or Fresno next year. Just all depends on the price of gas
and the weather. It went to 2.95 a gal for 100LL here. Thanks for all the replies
from everyone. Ya'll all have a great week................................Bob

Bob.... Glad to hear the engine is running good. As Jerry said, the spacers should
go between the engine mount and the firewall. This may cause a requirement
for longer bolts.... AND you always weigh the airplane in it's level flight attitude.
This is the only way to get the true weights required to analyze the
CG over the wing chord. And that is the entire reason we weigh the airplanes in
the first place.
We missed Pampa again on the return flight home. Had to go through Big Springs
from Temple, then on to Portalez(PRZ) on the way to Albequerque (AEG)...
Will try again next July 4th. All for the love of a pig.....

I got to taxi it around a little today. The engine really runs good. I cant put
my spinner backplate on cause the engine is about 5/8 to short. I guess I'll
shim the motor forward a little. I have some 5/8 aluminum and thought I would
cut out some spacers with a hole saw and put them between the engine and mount.
Anybody see any problem with that? With the wood prop I have on it it will
turn 2400 rpm's static, maybe this prop will about right for this engine. I'm
going to do a weight and balance next weekend. Do I weigh it sitting or do I raisethe
tail tostraight and level??????????????????????? Bob 149 almost flying

Bill--I hope you or Chuck will post the attendance list and airplanes, plus a few
pictures. I know Gary Knapp took a bunch of pictures, maybe he will post
some also.
Definitely plan for again next year. I will help in any way I can.

Dave and everyone else who came to Fresno Sat., THANKS from Chuck and I. Hopefully
we can do it again next year. Dave, thanks so much for the ride. What
a great airplane. Jim builds good stuff. If I was smart, I should get on his
waiting list.

I just pulled the new panel mold from the plug. This
new panel is an exact replica of Jim Clements aluminum
panel. I took his panel out of his new W-10 at Baraboo
this summer and traced the shape. Jim told me and
others that this shape makes it easier to fit the
glareshield. Thanks Jim for all your help. The first
new parts will go to Kevin Benzinger, Jey Hey, CJ
Kirby and Ralph Williams. Of course I'll need one for
my new project. Final polish should occur by early
next week and hopefully parts by the weekend.

Bill,
We do not buy fuel by the gallon any longer. it sold
by the Litre I had converted the Us gallons to litres (3.8) and the converted
the Canadian funds to US to arrive at the price. But it is getting up there
all over the world. my brother in law in England pays 90 pence per litre ( about
2.25 can or 1.68 Us per litre.) foe auto fuel 92 octane.

Avgas is looking better all the time.
Bad news is our $100 per month hanger, airport was just sold.
Got a call from 76 year old flying friend selling his plane due to
insurance premium "old age" increase of 70%.
