I guess we are pretty fortunate here at PPA we get to build our own hangars or
buy one if you can find someone that wants to sell. Luckily I found a 30x40 that
a guy wanted to sell that had an electric door lift. I just have to pay the
county $80 a year leasefor the land................Bob 149

Yeah Bob! That sounds great... Out here on the left coast, we get bent over
pretty good on hangar rent. My San Jose hangar costs $439 per month and once a
year they send us a "Property Tax" bill for close to $300. The new hangar I
bought up in Sutter Creek where I live cost me $30,000 but my land lease is only
$45 a month for the next 30 years. I still have a property tax bill of $332
per year but at least I'm not coughing up all that rent money too. And the value
of the hangar goes up every single day. Our 100LL is up to $2.79 a gallon
and that's about as cheap as we can find it anywhere.
The Rans I'm flying now has a Rotax 912S in it.. On the trip home from Florida,
I never could burn more than 4.5 gph. That engine prefers premium car gas. Luckily
we have a guy on the airport that has a 130 gallon tank in the back of
his pickup. We are paying him $3.00 a gallon for car gas so we don't have to take
our jugs to town all the time. Convenient but costly...

Rans S7 Courier. I got a 2001 with 123 hours on it. Had to fly it home from New
Smyrna Beach, Florida. A very nice airplane, very comfortable too. It's got 160
hours on it now. It's a GREAT addition to the hangar, sharing space with the
Tailwind.
