Yes, I am the bad Tailwind influence for Jim Lindner.
I am sorry that we have not seen a 2-3 day window to come out and steal your
airplane from you.
Email to me and I will physically give the pics to Jim. He is a Macintosh
nut and can't figure out how to make Windows OS play.

Paul...I have tried your email address, but AOL says that lslPilot@aol.com is
not a customer..??? What gives ??
As I said to Jim, why 2 or 3 days to get a Tailwind..???...are you going to
push it home, or carry it ?

Earl Luce...I lost your email address. I recently found a bunch of black &
white pictures of the Big X taken when Steve first built it. It has the 130
Franklin engine on it, so it would be pretty easy to scale things from that
known measurement.

the size of a caulk gun for just a drop of it. its about $12.00 a tub at the

Jim; I put the rudder cables in and placed the guides as well as I could
determine the positions by your photos. At stations E and F the cables are
laying on the fuselage bottom cross tubes. Options, make some guides that I
can attach to frame by j-strip or slide a piece of nylon tubing over the
cable. The guides may be the best option to keep the cables from drumming
on the frame cross pieces. I aligned up the guides with a string, but the
string doesn't sag like the cable. What would be the best option? Thank
you. JohnD

John.... The cables don't rest on the tubing when you are taxiing and
flying. Your feet will be on the pedals all the time. Also, to protect the
tubing when at rest, just put a little pad of nylon or whatever you have
laying around on the tubes where the cables rest on them.

Thanks Bob--I think I even have some, although I got the white stuff. I think
Fred tried locktite on his bolt and it still came loose.

Dave, I just sent you a message on the whole thing. Bottom line for all.....
If the shaft is good and snug within the prop, the screw will stay in easily with
Blue Locktite. We just really went to the extreme when I was out there this
summer to fix/cure the ill so I could stop beating the crap out of my prop leading
edges and to prevent a screw from finding it's way into my intake. That
would be bad.....

Now Jim C & Fred, you have me wondering about "Black Goo" for the
winshield??
Is their a miracle "Goop" that will seal the w/s and therefore the cabin
from the inevitable stench from an overfilled fuel tank??

John, when you put the return springs on the pedals it will tighten up the
cables. As Fred said, when you are using the TW your feet will keep them
tight. Don't put anything over the tubing where you think it might rub, it's
just another thing that might snag the cable.
The black goop Fred was talking about was automotive gasket maker in a small
squeeze tube. For sealing windshields, latex caulking or bathtub seal works
pretty good and cleans up with water.
