Jim,
Thanks for the swell information.
It comes in two sizes, 10-32 and 1/4-28. Any recommendation on which one?
Has your new project had the airworthiness inspection yet?

Jim,
The following message is from a past post referring to the carb heat control. I
need to ask what to use for the throttle control and the mixture control?
For the mixture, I can plan on an A740 with the red knob from Wicks. But, the throttle
control selection gets more complex...choices include button or friction
lock. I prefer the friction lock, but don't know which one. Wicks offers three
friction lock versions, the A800, A810, and the A820. Any suggestions? See

Malcomb, Carb heat is a A740-black from Wicks. Carb heat box top is alum
bent upward from the frt edge of the carb to the top of the cowl inlet. The
bottom is made from a foam core covered with fiberglass, the foam removed
later.

Use a 10/32, that fits the hole in the carburetor arm.

Dave; Please sign me up again. I checked yesterday with Yahoo and they say
I'm still a member. Everything was OK till 2 days ago and I stopped
receiving the post. I have been using this computer for 6 weeks now without
any problems, and can sign on the Tailwindgroups site and read the messages,
they are not coming with my daily e-mail. Thanks. JohnD

John:
I looked for you on the Yahoo Tailwind Forum site, and you are not a member
nor signed up to receive anything. That would also be why you cannot post
to that list. E-mail me if you want to get on that list--as moderator of
that Forum, I can set you up. Or, you can go through the process of signing
up again with Yahoo with your current e-mail address.
I would note that Yahoo does not store any pictures with its archive of
messages.

Working on the plug for the O-O nosebowl. Long way to go. I'm not worth a damn
at 'glas. Remainder of cowl will be flat wrap aluminum with 'glas tunnel for cooling
air exit.
Note to Jerry Hey: Looks like Brian Alley is major booked up, I'll probably be
trying to finish this plug and just send it to him to work his mold making and
lay up magic. You are welcome to come down and get a look. I'm sure I could use
your help, and no doubt I'll be shaping on if for a couple weeks as the holiday
travel will take a plug out of project time.

Rick, I got back from Kansas last night and slept 12
straight hours. I worked 14-16 hours for 10 straight
days. I'd like to see what the weather brings this
weekend and might be able to fly over Saturday or
Sunday and get your nose bowl plug done. If your
available, call me at home tommorrow night. I'm back
in Summersville Tuesday and Wednesday to make some
Tailwind parts and get the Lancair ready to move to
the airport so you can reach me there later in the
week.
