This can help provide more freedom to maneuver the bolt into its final position as the cases are pulled together. Suggest you do a DRY RUN trial test of this before putting the crank and camshaft and thread with sealant in place. You don't want to have a problem once the cases make contact because pulling them apart will most likely ruin the thread and sealant and cause subsequent oil leaks!
