Thanks to all you congratulators on the first flight of 169WH. I will make a
few adjustments today and get a better idea of the performance numbers. From
what I can tell so far, they are about the same as the other O-320
taildraggers I've had. Jim C

that is a terrific looking plane Jim! You and Donna don't look to bad either
;

Lot's of rain here, probably be snow your way in a few days, so not much flying
getting done. I am ready to go to Arizona and visit George! But, N168A is getting
electronic ignition, new nose oil seal, and prop won't be done for a while
yet.

Flew the TW today and things went quite well. Temp was about 18F and winds
were right down runway 19 @ 7 knots. The runway was slippery but not a
problem. It flew a little left wing heavy but after checking the flap
rigging the left flap was set a little higher than the right. I haven't
made
the strut fairings yet and the prop may need a little adjusting. It
statics
only 2200 rpm and I didn't check the max in flight rpm yet b
ut seems like
it
will be about 26-2650 rpm. In this cold weather it works fine and will
mess
with it after the fairing and rigging is squared away. The engine also has
only 20 minutes on it. I think it will be a nice airplane and the heater
works good. The lady standing beside me in one of the pictures is my wife
Donna, she puts up with a lot. Jim C

Another great looking Tailwind Jim!
Hope to see it myself @ DLL in 2005!
Good luck on your test flight!

Thanks Fred, Somehow I got switched off the TW list and wasn't getting the
posts in my email. I resubscribed and it now seems to work. Jim
