Thanks,

Before putting the fairings on the engine would tach out at exactly 2600 rpm. After
it tached out at slightly more than 2600 rpm. A two way gps run netted 207mph.
I will work on the propeller next to get more rpm. Jim

We had the pleasure of unexpected visitors last Wed afternoon, Eric Schlanser
and Diane and their two daughters stopped by on their CA vacation. They were
on a very tight schedule but we enjoyed the time spent with them.
What we want to know is, how did Eric know where we were and how to get to the
airstrip?
Any of the TW builders and flyers are always welcome.

Make them. The curved part is made from scraps from the fuel tank, it is
easily formed after the 3/8" flange is bent in a brake. The end pieces are
.025 6061T6.

Cons, you will have to use a different crankshaft. Fewer crankcase thru bolts.
Pros, if you use the 85 pistons you will have higher compression but you will have
to machine relief's for the spark plugs. Jim

THank you all.
I suppose with the higher compression it is obligatory to use avgas.
I intend to use avgas anyway but it might come in handy someday to be able to
use car gas.

Hey Jim,
How do you put the oil hose damper inside the flap torque tube when you make the
aluminum flaps? They don't slide by the rivets .

I make it out of a piece of plastic or aluminum. Make the inner hole sloppy and
taper it toward the tip end so the 3/4 tube finds its way into the hole. If you
already have the rivets in, file flat spots in the bushing to clear. Not much
new on this end, working on the prop. Jim
