Subject: Tailwind-List: High Flight
Oh,I have slipped the surly bonds of earth,
And danced the skies on laughter-silvered wings;
Sunward I've climbed, and joined the tunmling mirth
Od sun-split clouds...and done a hundred things
You have not dreamed o...wheeled and soared and swung
High in the sunlit silence.Hov'ring there,
Ive chased the shouting wind along, and flung
My eager craft through footless halls of air.
Up,up,the long,delerious burning blue
I've topped the windswept hights with easy grace
Where never lark,nor eagle flew.
And while with silent, lifting mind I've trod
The high untrespassed sanctity of space...
...put out my hand, and touched the face of God.
(John Gillespie Magee,Jr.)
PS. I flew my Tailwind for the first time today.

I just got back to Chicago after working with Dave on "our" TW.
I stayed in delux wing of Dave and Lyn's home in Celebration, Florida just South
of Disney.
It would have been great if my wife could have joined us but she had to work.
We biked each morning 10 to 15 miles and then worked until dark at Kissimmee airport
and headed home where Dave's wife Lyn had great meals prepared for us.
We added 2 new gyros and reworked the panel to a standard "T" 6 pack, it was tight
and took 2 days .
I continued the repaint, sanding all cracked paint and applied white epoxy primer
over the repairs and it is looking good for the spray coat of Areothane.
Dave worked on the engine inspection having flown about 30 hrs since the last check.
Dave is doing great with the flying going from a C182 to the TW with no problem.
We both had a great week of TW work with a flight to Lakeland thrown in. In addition
the Liberty B-17 was doing low passes and we even shared airspace
with them on the Lakland trip.
