Paul, the fabric overlap depends on the system and the adhesive used. I used the
Poly-Fiber system (formerly Stits). It calls for 1 inch overlap minumum. I think
I covered the longeron joints with 3 inch tapes. The manual for your system
should say what is required, since all these systems are intended for commercial
aircraft and have to have an STC.

Just thought I'd share a photo of the new wing tips I built for my Tailwind. Now
the metal wing looks more like the wooden one.
Hope to see you all at Baraboo!

Hey Bill,
Rich Ellis & I are contemplating making the same kind of tips. Did you make a
mold or do moldless? I want to hear all about it @ Baraboo. See you on 7/23

Bill,
Q1: What performance difference are you recording with
your new tapered wingtips?
Q2: What is your new wing span?
Q3: Did you purchase from John Chmura?
Looks good and eager to see close up at Baraboo
(although I will be coming to SPI this coming Mon-Wed
to visit family - may give you a call). Rich
