George;
If I fly my Tail to the Wind N6168V in on Monday mid morning can I have a spot
to tie down for a couple of nights by the other Tailwinds? Was going to drive
but may be able to fly instead.

Jim;
We won't be able to make Baraboo because of a major commitment in Illinois
Thursday thru late Sunday afternoon. If we can fly to OSH what are the
chances of getting a parking spot by the Tailwinds Monday morning thru
Wednesday late in the afternoon?
I e-mailed George with this information too but he may already be on his
way.

Red, I would expect so as well. No I have not compared the performance as yet.
The weather here has been very hazy, especially in the early mornings when the
air is calm. Flight visibility is essentially nil when looking into the sun.
Hope to get some data soon.

Hi Bill,
They do look good.
Have you compared performance before and after at high altitudes? It seems that
ought to be where the longer span would help you.

Yeah, I think there ae enough screws! I followed a suggestion I got form Calbie
that the screws be on 1 1/2" centers. This works out to about 50 screws per
tip, so if that won't do it, nothing will.
There is no spar extension in the tips, they simply screw onto the tip rib.
I did make sure that one screw (top and bottom) went through the spar cap, but
that's all.
Thanks for the compliment. I'm rathr pleased with them myself.

Forgot to ask...... Are you sure you used enough screws to hold them on?
And, did you utilize the old stub spar to attach to any type of internal spar/shearweb?
The pictures looked great.

Ron, if you've been following some of my other replies, the tips were built
from styrofoam cores, using Aeropoxy epoxy resin. The basic technic is the
same as used on the Rutan designed wings for the -Eze's, Quickies, etc. There
was a Long-Eze builder a couple of hangars away who still had his hot wire setup,
so this was why the method was chosen.
I've attached a couple of photos of the work in progress showing the cores
and also a top view of the installation. Sorry about the large file sizes.
I hadn't planned on e-mailing these photos.

Rich, did you include a spar of some sort or is it just foam? How did you attach
them?
