I have not build my wings yet (all materials ordered from ACS but await shipment). I plan to extend my forward spar in similar fashion to the wooden spar with the 1.0 x 1.5 x 1/8 spar cap and web. This should provide a good infrastructure to support the tapered wingtips. I believe this the fashion Calbie Woods build the tapered wingtips for the 4Runner. It was held on by close spaced screws into the outboard rib. As far as I know, this has proven satisfactory thru the years...Callbie Wood The Piper Apache tip (larger) is held on by screws only. This tapered tip was a mod made much later to see if HI altitude cruise was improved....NOT NOTICEBLY. jncwood@bbnp.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rich Ellis" Subject: Re: Tailwind-List: New Wing Tips > --> Tailwind-List message posted by: Rich Ellis > > Ken ......
