I spent weeks completing an extensive condition inspection, flight tested my new
Catto prop and installed a new carbon fiber spinner. The spinner went into the
paint shop Friday morning so I had to install the prop and spinner Saturday
morning before I left for Oshkosh. I stopped at Madison Co OH for fuel and maps
then headed for Oshkosh. I flew at 8500' with 21.5 MAP and 2720 rpm indicating
165 and had a GS of 175Kts. I flew past a thunderstorm 50 miles west of Valpraiso
IN and came upon another one running south from Chicago as far as I could
see. I landed at VPZ for fuel and to check the weather. After the storm passed,
I taxied to 27 behind other aircraft that had stopped for weather and when
I opened the throttle for take off the engine was down 100 rpm and was running
very rough. After 2 days fixing the right mag and finding plugs for the electronic
ignition I waited another 2 days for weather to allow me to get to Oshkosh.
I was in the air and flew into OSH after 20 mi
nutes
holding at Ripon and 10 minutes at Rush Lake. I stayed at Oshkosh until Friday
and flew home with one fuel stop. The Tailwind ran better than ever.

After much thought and research I've decided to sell N320WT. I have an opportunity
to purchase my families 17-30A Super Viking. I've always wanted to own this
airplane when my dad was done with it. I will continue to support the Tailwind
thru Carbon Fiber Composites and finish the project I purchased from Ted Leon.
I want to offer my Tailwind to the group first.
For Sale N320WT 1998 W-10 Tailwind 0320-A2B 150 HP, New Catto Prop 68"DX72"P, MX11
760 comm with Sigtronics intercom, Garmin 295 color GPS, Grand Rapids EIS
engine monitor with fuel flow option and many extra sensors. Call or email for
details and photos. Asking $48,000
