I just got back from a long cross country and this gave me the urge to investigate
some method of cockpit adjustable roll trim.
I thought about a flap puchrod incorporating a turnbuckle barrel that could be
lengthened or shortened in flight. The only problem I've seen so far in the diffululty
in locating an AN490 rod end with left hand threads.
Has anyoone tried this and if so, where did you find a left hand thread rod end?
Has anyone come up with some other method? A bungee cord on the aileron pushrod?
Thanks for the comments
Bill

Rick--Did you read Rudy Frasca's story recently (I can't remember where I read
it) about his legal problems. Something about a Cub crash and suit against
his airport. Even though court said it was no fault of the airport I think it
cost him lots. He has shut down his flight instruction and laid off the
help. Let me know where that sight was. So sorry. Gordon 9168Q

SAA = Sport Aviation Association
It's a subsidiary of the EAA that publioshes a nice quarterly magazine and
has had some interesting articles about Tailwinds in several past issues.

Bill, I thought that the spring/washer setup that Jim C. had on one of his earlier
planes was pretty neat and simple. he had a spring attached to the fuse. behind
the pass. seat with a flat washer attached to the other end with the aileron
push rod going through it. You just pushed up on the flat washer to get
the right tension and when you released it the washer would cock sideways and
lock in place on the push rod tube. Jim could probably elaborate more on this.
