Subject: | WLAS [Please Read] |
Dear Listers,
I sat down at the 'ol computer tonight to have a look at a few of the nice comments
List Members have been including along with their Contributions this year.
I was amazed at how many I found and even more amazed at some of the very nice
things Listers have been saying about the Lists and how valuable the they
are to them.
I've included quite a few of these nice comments below. Please read over some
of this great Lister feedback. No doubt you will find that you agree with at
least one or two of those comments - maybe all of them! If you find that do,
won't you please make a Contribution to support these Lists today!! Its fast
and easy with the Matronics List Contribution Web Site:
http://www.matronics.com/contribution
Don't forget that I've now fully implemented the new *List Fund Raiser Squelch*
feature that will automatically intercept any future iterations of my "Please
Contribute" messages -- that is, *once you've made YOUR Contribution*! How cool
is that? (Make sure the email address you enter along with your Contribution
matches exactly your subscribed List email address. An exact match is how
it works.)
Thank you for your generous Contributions this year and for all the wonderful comments!!

If it were not for the "Tailwind" list my airplane would have killed
someone. A critical component was not called out on my plans set. Had
it not been for the list my plane would have gone into service missing
this critical hidden component. Thanks for saving perhaps my life.

The data base should have all the information. Some of the early plans
sets missed the call out for plywood doublers on the root end of the
main spar. I had to open my wings to install it. I used 5/16 (5) ply
birch per Jim Clement. If your not sure drill an inspection hole big
enough for a dentist mirror and take a look, cheap insurance.

Mike, are you sure you used 5/16"? Wittman's plans called for 1/16" birch, I
usually use 3/32 or 1/8" birch. Jim C

I wasn't going to fool around the second time I had the wings open.
Perhaps it wasn't you but the guy that makes the cowlings. Anyway,
birch, 5 layer, 5/16. I got it from a hobby supply store.

Just checked my wings. I have not yet attached the root ribs and my plywood
doublers are 1/16th inch 3 ply birch with 45 degree orientation on Doug Fir
spars. Should I add another layer of 1/16th before I close or just keep it
the way it is?
