My wings are aluminum so this may not be entirely applicable but may provide food for thought. The top was made by filling the gap between the fuselage and the wing and laying glass in place. I think I used some cardboard and metal tape to provide the rough shape. The top fastenes to the fairing structure over the cabin top. I used square aluminum tubing and so drilled and tapped it for 6-32 screws. The outboard side screws to platenuts installed on the root rib flange. The bottom fastens to a couple of brackets riveted to the aluminum panel over the door. I also made a standoff at the rear to allow something to fasten the rear inboard section of the top fairing to. It rivets to the bottom fairing and extends to the underside of the top. Hope some of this helps a bit. I will try to get some pictures of this taken and post them in the next day or so. We had a nice flight down to Gulf Port, Miss. 5 hours flight time, 220-230 ground speed, 7000-8000 altitude. We stopped in Vandalia, Ill. Filled up and stretched our legs. Continued on and ran into some overcast conditions in northern Miss. Went down to 3000 ft. but had to stop for a bit in Starkville, Miss. After the haze lifted some we ontinued on to Gulf Port. We took off from Baraboo at 09:30am and arrived in Gulf Port at 4pm. It's been raining here all day today, Saturday. We plan on leaving on Monday if weather is OK. Heading for Kissimme, Florida.
