      Eric,
      i had to add gussets to my motor mount at the bottom of the gear at 
      about 1500 hrs, a friend with a factory
      RV-6 mount only lasted 300hrs.

        The RV6A factory motor mount has gussets. So, I added gussets to my
        trike project motor mount. I did it off of the motor thinking it would
        not warp...wrong. I had to cut the gussets and stretch the mount to
        get it to fit back on the motor. It couldn't be that simple to fix so
        one tube cracked during the stretching process. I repaired the cracked
        tube after studying AC 43.13 for a week or so. See a photo of the cut
        gussets in the Eric's project album in the photos section.
      
        Question #1: Should I repair the gussets or just cut them off? 
        Question #2: What is the experience in use? Is anyone having cracking
        problems with the motor mount that would call for gussets?
      
        I added a photo of the situation to the Eric's project album in the
        photos section.
