Missed the takeoffs at Baraboo by 10 minutes. I got some of Bill Bernards parts and we made the xchange at Boo. Saw a few of you at Airventure, had a good time telling lies with Earl. More time next year. I am not a fan of fuses, because here is the usual sequence. 1. Fuse blows. Maybe it was a weak fuse. Put in another one. 2. That fuse blows. Well maybe the load was too great, so unplug something. 3. That fuse blows. Who carries more than two replacement fuses? Now what? 4. Use a bigger fuse robbed from something important. Modify fuse somewhat to fit. It melts part of the fuseholder AND melts fuse. 5. Then it appears the problem has been found, but lacking a fuse, a small wire is used. Wire melts. 6. Maybe a heavier wire will work. 7. Something expensive makes that FTTTT sound with accompanying acrid smoke. That leaves you with no fuses, including the ones you robbed from other fuseholders AND the component burned to a crisp. If you use breakers, you can just skip to step 6 and jump the breaker. In some cases it really doesn't matter how high the load is because if the part is going bad, like a starter solenoid, higher amps wont hurt it, it is dying anyway. Or at least when you are stuck somewhere that seems to make sense.
