I've been thinking about starting this bulletin board for a long time. I like the idea of Team Grumman a lot better than the Grumman Gang. There are a lot of people who get bumped off the Grumman Gang for posting topics unacceptable to Mark Mathews. Mark, in my opinion, runs the Grumman Gang like a Napolean version of the Gestapo. Way too much dictorial control in my opinion. So, this morning I decided that first, I need to get a message back from the current members just to know that you're on the Team. Second, I've been working on Grummans for nearly 20 years and I know a lot of little tricks that will make current and future maintenance a lot easier. I also know how to make the Tigers run cooler. Cliff Hanson eluded to a post by Bill Scott regarding the baffles that wrap around the heads. Well, I've been modifying those for over a year. I can drop CHTs on #3 and #4 by as much as 30 degrees. Bottom line is, I'm going to use this forum to post many of my tricks and items I think are just plain BS (i.e., some of what is talked about on the Gang.) I'm also designing a Team Grumman Page for my web site. It'll have all the lastest developments I'm working on. And, I've been thinking about designing a Team Grumman T-Shirt/Polo Shirt. What are your thoughts. Don't hesitate to say what you think. I was caught in the infamous Bugbear virus warning thread, was reinstated, but voluntarily unsubscribed again when several GG messages with the same virus started showing up in my Inbox again. I make my living from my computer, and can't afford that. This almost doesn't need saying, but if we could have some way of passing real (not hoax) virus alerts, that would be both welcome and responsible. I find it difficult to accept a virus alert as being off-topic. I can just see myself trying to explain to a client whose project is late that I didn't know about a possible incoming virus threat because it was a verboten topic. :-) I believe that being responsible pilots and aircraft owners, we are perfectly capable of setting an acceptable limit of thread drift before a topic voluntarily goes to private email. We're grownups - I think we can handle it. I'm looking forward to what follows! best, Cory > --> TeamGrumman-List message posted by: Aucountry@aol.com > > Here's the deal. > > I've been thinking about starting this bulletin board for a long time. I especially felt limited by not being able to post graphical material. I Love to work in graphics. You know, worth a thousand words and all that.
