Subject: | Throttle Cable Plate on Firewall |
--> TeamGrumman-List message posted by: "Steven Jackson" <steven.jackson14@adelphia.net>
TG,
I'm still working on prep for painting the firewall. I'm curious about the
plate that is riveted to the firewall that supports the throttle cable (I'm
not sure of the name--couldn't find it in the parts manual) and the rubber
seal that is underneath. It appears that the seal material is in between
the firewall and the plate, and is a single piece that includes the rubber
portion that the cable goes through. My rubber seal is reamed out, so
there's not a solid seal where the cable goes through. I'm assuming that
when I pop the rivets and plate off, I can remove the seal as well. 2
questions--(1) has anyone done this before, and (2) what kind of material is
it made of. Once again, I have this thought after Fletchair is closed.
