Rather than doing this, Sears sells a little plug that goes into the socket.
It's made so you can use an 11/6 wrench on it.=A0=A0 That's a LOT easier than
trying to cut a socket.=A0=A0 A package of 3 (1/4 3/8 1/2) adapters is about 6
bucks.
No more bent up baffles.=A0=A0 And, the plugs are removed in just a few seconds
without a ratchet.

Or,
Buy the Sears 7/8 rachet box wrench, slide it directly over the spark plug and
ratchet it out. 'Watch out for the tubes'
or,
Put the Champion plug puller on and use a 11/16 box end on the Champion.
There is enough room to use either with out beating up the baffles

The shorter socket will also be useful on all the little continentals. Just
in case you own a Grumman and an Aeronca!! ;-) I've been using this approach
for a couple years.
