    Subject: Garmin 295 Softwear UpGrade?
--> TeamGrumman-List message posted by: FLYaDIVE@aol.com HI Guys & Dolls: I just got off the Garmin Web Site and there is a new upgrade, or is it? As of October 2, 2003 the software version went from 2.28 to 2.30. Small changes take place in increments of 100ths, Medium Changes in 10ths and Large changes in whole units. This is a small change and does not address the problems of lockup we were discussing a short time back. Here is their history report: Changes made from version 2.28 to 2.30: Corrected problem using MetroGuide version 5 maps that caused service POI's to be displayed at the wrong zoom scale. I believe this is the first upgrade Garmin has made in over a year, maybe two! I don't think Garmin is getting the message. Maybe talking to the tech-reps over the phone is not enough. I am going to be sending an email, in hopes of a response and maybe even a software corrction/upgrade. Please Join Me. Barry "Chop'd Liver"

--> TeamGrumman-List message posted by: "Cory Emberson" <bootless@earthlink.net> Hello all! First, let me say I love this list. :-) I was looking for old GG threads that I had saved about emergency egress in Grummans, and they are all gone. I am editing and compiling an aviation book for Rick Durden (AOPA Pilot and AVweb, and my good friend from AVsig), and noticed a chapter that dealt with crashworthiness needed further detail about egress from canopied airplanes. He has asked that I contact you guys and gals to get the real deal on preparation and execution of egress given the possibility of a jammed canopy latch in a forced landing or impact. Thanks so much! best, Cory (HWD)
