I have a label/decal maker thingus, but the stickers it makes look just
like "stickers" .... not really good for a cherry dash panel. Even the
clear ones "show".
What you really need is a contrasting color "rub-on" kit of letters and
numbers. YOU MAY be able to get from an office supply and are relatively
cheap. They are a pain to put on, as each letter has to be "rubbed on",
but will look best. Once the wording is on, you have to "clear coat" or
you will have letters that wear off easily. You might ask an Avionics
repair station for suggestions/prices. They have to "do it right".
and your new dash should be done "right".

Check around. There are companies, even auto body decal shops, that make
decals. Look on the internet. Also, there are label makers you can
get from
places like Staples, that make labels. There is even software you can
get to
print labels on your computer.

Don't use anything on the plexiglass except 100% cotton.
Get a box of painters rags. They are 100% cotton, have never been washed
and there is NO dirt trapped in the fabric. Dirt you can't see. Dirt you
can't feel. Use only fresh rags. That is, unless your windows look like=20they
should be replaced anyway. In that case, use the blue shop paper towels,
they'll work just fine.
Meguires makes good plastic polish.
Blue Coral makes some stuff I like better.
The Cee Bailey stuff is OK.
Plexus is not bad.
Prist Plastic cleaner is not bad either.
Either Plexus or Prist work fine for an occasional touch up.
If you need to get a lot of bugs off (or lotsa dirt), use your HAND and fresh
water over windshield and wipe gently to remove the excess stuff off. Then,
with NEW 100% cotton rags, use WASH/WAX All to clean off the bugs (works
great on the leading edge too.). Then, with NEW 100% cotton rags, polish with
the Blue Coral stuff. Again, if your windows look like crap anyway, it
really doesn't matter what you do.
