I'm routing my cables back through the firewall and my A&P and I are scratching our head at the old hardware used to pass the carb heat, mixture, and cabin heat cables through the firewall. We personally see this as being an improvement over the old hardware. Haven't asked my mech this yet, but I'm assuming something like this would require field approval?
