Immediately shut it down and starting investigating. Found the oil line to the oil pressure gauge was rubbed at the right defroster hose and leaking. Upon inspection found the line has a section approx 1 inch wide that was corroded/pitted. Looks like a 1/4" aluminum line with fittings. Is there anything else I need to know? Any other info would be great. It is easy to do in a few minutes if Fletchair doesn't have one. Fletch used to keep it on the website. Like Cliff said get your A&P to make a new line. Also look at the fuel lines while you are there. Best thing is to replace the gages with Mitchell gages. Gets rid of hard lines in the cockpit. This is a typical bad spot. The routing of the defroster hose and oil under pressure in the cabin is not a great design. Replace the aluminum tubing (a good time to remove the switch for the Hobbs meter) and you'll be fine. Yea I can make a new line, that's not the problem. I just wanted more info on what kind of line (aluminum, 2024? 6061? don't know). Also, the Mitchell electric gauges. Where can I find more info. I hate mechanical gauges due to the plumbing and the stock gauges are hard to read. I've found them on the web but was wondering what kind of paper work is involved. Really like the UMA small round gauges. Looks more "modern/jet". There is one style which is approved for Grummans and another which is not. I intend to change mine out, too. Bob Milligan
