At lower altitudes and colder winter air that would also mean you are operating right up near the redline IAS (172 kts.). Hmm! Close to the redline but not at it, remember IAS is lower the higher in altitude you are. When making a descent from 8,500 you can see IAS numbers in the bottom of the yellow arc and still be doing close to 170 knots, secondly theres nothing wrong with flying just below the red line in smooth air, that is what the red line is there for isnt it. ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 12:57:18 PM PST US From: Lesflyguy@aol.com Subject: TeamGrumman-List: Tiger heavy wing --> TeamGrumman-List message posted by: Lesflyguy@aol.com Just purchased a very nice 1976 Tiger and it is an absolute joy to fly except for a "heavy right wing" or tendency to roll right. Has anyone had this problem? Is there an easy fix? i.e. adjusting the tabs on aelerons? Any info would be greatly appreciated. My mechanic is talking about lengthy (read: expensive ) trouble-shooting of the problem and I suspect it's not that complicated. With both tanks full and just the pilot . .this would tend to be the left side. So be sure it isn't just the way the plane is loaded. My Tiger was a little off when I got it .. and I got it pretty much spot on by adjusting the aileron and rudder trim tabs. ----- Original Message ----- From: Subject: TeamGrumman-List: Tiger heavy wing | --> TeamGrumman-List message posted by: Lesflyguy@aol.com | | Just purchased a very nice 1976 Tiger and it is an absolute joy to fly except for a "heavy right wing" or tendency to roll right. Minor corrections can be made using the trim tabs. -----Original Message----- From: Roger Tracy [mailto:rtracy@alltel.net] Subject: Re: TeamGrumman-List: Tiger heavy wing --> TeamGrumman-List message posted by: "Roger Tracy" First .. the Tiger is sensitive to fuel load being balanced and will roll to the heavy side. Mechanic found a fried battery, alternator and voltage regulator which were all replaced. After the pilot was traveling for 4 hours without difficulty. While getting clearance at an airport the electric failure happen again this time popping the alternator fuse. It happened when the mic button was activated. A PTT button was placed to bypass this switch but the problem continued. The plane has now been flown for 12 hours without a recurrence. I don't believe pushing the mic button is the problem. Has anyone had similar issues any help would be great. Thanks Daniel
