This is a good one. I always remove the mag. I can't see another way to
do it. There have even been times when I've had to remove the Oil Filter
adapter.
Also, years ago I had a special tool to remove/tighten the nut on the main
gear axel. I loaned it out and never saw it again. I asked about the tool
years ago and was told that everyone uses vice-grips. So, has anyone got a line
on the correct tool? I can't seem to find one.

I am considering putting a larger engine 180-200 hp on my 79 Cheetah. I know some
of you have had experience with or thought of doing the same mod.
I would be interested in hearing comments. Pro and con.

Hey Jim,
My 77 Cheetah was upgraded with a factory reman to 0 time 0360
and the Tiger spar in 1990. (I didn't own it then).
It has flown about 700 (112 mine) hours or so since then with no
problems relating to the larger engine that I know of.
It delivers Tiger performance and has been very fast
and reliable in the hours I have put on it.
I say go for it, you will never be disappointed with the extra
performance.

Yes
I'll have to get the tool out of my box tomorrow and send you a picture. It's basically
a curved 7/16 snap-on box end wrench that is ground as necessary to clear
the stud. It makes the job a no brainer.
Regards
Jim Ransom
