I always remove the mag. I can't see another way to do it. There have even been times when I've had to remove the Oil Filter adapter. Also, years ago I had a special tool to remove/tighten the nut on the main gear axel. I loaned it out and never saw it again. I asked about the tool years ago and was told that everyone uses vice-grips. So, has anyone got a line on the correct tool? I can't seem to find one. I know some of you have had experience with or thought of doing the same mod. I would be interested in hearing comments. Pro and con. (I didn't own it then). It has flown about 700 (112 mine) hours or so since then with no problems relating to the larger engine that I know of. It delivers Tiger performance and has been very fast and reliable in the hours I have put on it. I say go for it, you will never be disappointed with the extra performance. It's basically a curved 7/16 snap-on box end wrench that is ground as necessary to clear the stud. It makes the job a no brainer.
