Subject: | Aircraft Engine Hours |
--> TeamGrumman-List message posted by: TeamGrumman@aol.com
I recently bought a new Chevy Tahoe. The Odometer has a "Engine Hours"
feature. I've got about 2200 miles on it and it shows about 50 hrs on the
engine. This works out to roughly averaging 44 miles per hour. So, I go to
thinking, the S-10 I sold a few years ago had 197,000 miles on it. If I used
the
same average miles per hour over the 7 years I had it, that worked ut to about
4477 hours total time.
OK. So, I usually averaged about 19-21 miles per gallon in the S-10. That
worked out to about 9,850 gallons of gas over 4477 hours or about 2.2 gallons
per hour.
My new Tahoe is working out to about 2.16 gallons per hour. I've been
getting 19-20 or so on the hiway and 16-17 in combined city-hiway.
Just thought it was interesting.

I have some pictures of a stock Tiger in flight. I am also about to put the
Revision 1 cowling on the Blue Tiger.
I have a couple of pics of putting UltraVision lights into an eyebrow.
I have one pic of the 3-bladed MT Prop.
