Hey Team,
I've got a friend who lives near Carlsbad and is looking for a
way to make a couple of trips to Fresno (I believe for business) over
the next little while (he hasn't clarified what that means with me
either) without having to make the drive. If anyone's based in that
area and looking for an excuse to get out and fly either for hire or on
a shared cost basis my friend might be interested. He's a good guy and
would be willing to pay reasonably for the convienience but we're not
talking a Gulfstream here either;)
Please let me know if you'd be interested.

Call Fletchair, talk to Garner. They have wheel pants stc'd and not stc'd.
They will even paint them for you. The problem is they might not have the
hardware to mount then. I have heard that the hardware is hard to come by. I
bought a set of mains from them six months ago however I supplied the hardware.

I would suggest this as a minimum...
from FAR 23.1157
(b) Powerplant fluid filler openings. The following apply:
(1) Fuel filler openings must be marked at or near the filler cover with --
(i) The word "fuel";
(ii) For reciprocating engine powered airplanes, the minimum fuel grade;
And though I can't find a FAR for it, why not the capacity.... for the line
personnel who want to sell more than the tank can take....
Apparently capacity is Legally marked inside the cockpit...
(2) For fuel systems having selector controls, the usable fuel capacity
available at each selector control position must be indicated near the
selector control.
If it's engraved, then the stupid sticky label would never peel off.....:

Capicity is in the form of a placard or engraving which is listed in the TCDS and
as such required for airworthiness.

Model AA-5 and Model AA-5A with Standard Fuel Tanks:
* "FUEL MINIMUM 80/87 OCTANE 19 U.S. GAL. CAP"
* Model AA-5A with Optional Fuel Tanks:
* "FUEL MINIMUM 80/87 OCTANE 26.3 U.S. GAL. CAP"
* Model AA-5B and Model AG-5B:
* "FUEL MINIMUM 100/100 OCTANE 26.3 U.S. GAL. CAP"
But the TCDS only says "placard" ... It doesn't give a manufacture's part
number, or say it has to be the original placard...... Isn't engraving an
equivalent to a placard??
To answer the original question from Barry....this is what should be
engraved..... for a Tiger...

26.3 U.S. GAL. CAP
