I pulled the cowling and inspected the installation. No problems. I disconnected the started so that I could just energize the solenoid and it contacts the ring gear very well. I called Sky-Tek and talked to a guy named Rich. Really terrific guy, I might add. VERY helpful. I tried a lot of things to get the starter to work but it wouldn't. Question? Has anyone ever had something similar happen and if so, what was it? Also, could someone forward this to the Grumman Gang and get some input for me. Mark has the screen name TeamGrumman@aol.com blocked from posting to the gang. I can receive gang inputs, I just can't post there. Unfortunately, I had starter problems. Stay tuned. ________________________________ Message 5 _____________________________________ Time: 01:59:28 PM PST US From: "Skydog Stan" Subject: TeamGrumman-List: PRICE ??? --> TeamGrumman-List message posted by: "Skydog Stan" Need your input.. However, with 2300 on the engine, you're looking at about $20,000 for a quality engine overhaul with new cylinders. That makes it a $54,000 plane with 5000+ hours on it. It would have to have a LOT of really nice avionics to make it worth it. There is a Cheetah out here in California for about $35,000 with 2700+ total time and 1400 on the engine. It needs apint and interior.
