Well, the annual on this Tiger continues. I found the nose geat strut
spindle (where the nose fork attaches) had had the rust ground off it with either
      a
wire wheel ot some other grinder. The spindle was 0.050+ out of round in
places. The problem stems from the use of the little fiberglas fairing instead

of the rubber seal and ring on the nose wheel fairing. The lack of a seal
lets water run right down into the bearing. Keep in mind that the hardware

had all been installed wrong and no "O" ring on the spindle,

The bearings in the nose fork are very badly worn. I'll be installing a new
nose strut, new bearings in the fork, a new nose wheel pant (with the
original style ring and seal), and a new nose gear boot.

On a new subject: I started using the AeroShell 22 wheel bearing grease.
It's very expensive but I like it.

Oh, yea, this Tiger has the original wing bolts too. There is no cad
plating on any of the bolts except in the tapered recess. After all, it only
      holds
      the wing in place.

      Gary
