I can imagine the price of the Travelers will go up after Gary's
cowling is available. I used to fly a 75 model (new cowl
style)traveler N16CR my club bought from a guy in Greenville,
SC. A very nice airplane. Adding Gary's cowling would close a
lot of the performance gap to the Cheetah.
Gary, I don't remember reading, but what is the final material?
Fiberglass or carbon fiber? From what I have seen on new tigers
with dissimilar metal corrosion and field repairability, I would
guess you will use Fiberglass.
At Gulfstream we always use a final ply of FG over Carbon to
separate the aluminum from the carbon.

This is some good information. I wasn't aware there was a problem with
carbon-fiber and aluminum. I'll pass that on to my composite guy. I plan on
using Carbon.

Hi All,
There had been some discussions about the MT Propeller STC for the Grumman
Tiger a short while ago.
There was a concern about the high cost of the STC ($15,000 was stated) and
the 2500 RPM operating limitation per the STC.
Is there an owner of a stock AA-5B, or AG-5B, in the Southern California
area, that is interested in the MT Propeller STC at 2700 RPM?
MT Propeller has offered to work with me in developing additional FAA STC's.
I have already contacted the proper FAA person for the Southern California
area, and I believe I understand what will probably be required for this new STC.

And with steel... the Thunder Mustang under construction on our airpark
uses all stainless bolts when the holes pass through the carbon fibre....
gil in Tucson
... boy you should see the custom V-12 engine supplied with the Thunder
