The oil was changed once every 12-18 months over the last 10 years; during each annual. 1988 was the highest useage: 60 hours. It has flown about 100 hours in the last 10 years. So, the last two days, I pulled the cowling, baffles, and cylinders. I looked very closely at the cam. It looks pretty good. I'm going to measure the lobes with a dial indicator. Does anyone know the lobe lift? I can't find it in the overhaul manual. It's going to get a set of new Lycoming cylinders and pistons. Top overhaul at 1100TT. I got good photos of the inspection cracks and buckles after I removed the top "tray" and disconnected the cables and removed the pulleys... There is a lot of "stuff" back there.... With the top tray in place, I couldn't get my camera down in place to get good photos... I don't have a picture taking cell phone (they are definitely not allowed at my work place...) The photos are on my web site at... http://home.earthlink.net/~gilalex/Tiger/ ....and are 30Kb to 60Kb size... ....comments welcome.... 1977 Tiger N28478 s/n 0635 1700 TT approx.
