no help.... --> TeamGrumman-List message posted by: GOLDPILOT@aol.com There are several spots in SoCal area that have "dead spots". Sometimes between BUR and ONT I'll get a call to recycle xponder or they say they lost my alt readout.. Does this problem happen in the same areas? With a particular code? Try rotating each switch segment several times to clean the switch contacts. Lastly, try borrow somebodys same type xponder and swap and see if problem stays with your plane or goes to the other plane. David

Mark Tiger N1533R" Are you designing, have any suggestions, etc for cutting a tire inflation port on wheelpants ? I just went through a 1.5 hr "tire inflation exercise" with the guys here at SNA.... It took the gas guy that amount of time and much hassle to fill my nose tire, after flattening it twice in the process. I know it doesn't take that long normally, but it did with this guy... a front could have passed by the time he got it done...... Anyway, it would be easier for all concerned if the idiot who designed the wheel pants had thought about an access hole of some sort. If you have come up with something, let us all know, or wha ?? I can dremel a radius to make it easier, but it wouldn't be very pretty..... any suggestions ? Jan

I do my own tire filling and have the same results. >I know it doesn't take that long normally, but it did with this >guy... a front could have passed by the time he got it done...... > Hope he didn't charge you shop rate! ;-) >Anyway, it would be easier for all concerned if the idiot who designed >the wheel pants had thought about an access hole of some sort. If you >have come up with something, let us all know, or wha ?? > Well, this is one of life's coincidences. My buddy has a Pazmany , and he has a filler port in the side of the wheelpants. The filler port is 1/4" dia, and he has an extension that he screws onto the stem through the hole and fills it. There's a white line painted on the tire (points to the valve stem) and a black dot at the bottom of the wheel pant. Align the marks and everything is quite simple after that. I'll take a good look at his extension ...... (not THAT kind of extension! Sheesh) ... and post another note as to it's construction. >I can dremel a radius to make it easier, but it wouldn't be very >pretty..... any suggestions ? > Wait 'till I get a closer look at the valve extension.
