--> TeamGrumman-List message posted by: TeamGrumman@aol.com We fitted the first Dorsil fin yesterday. They look good. Composite Dave is still working out the best way to get the layup done so he has a consistant layup and finished part. The original process specs makes a really lousy dorsil fin. By-the-way. We weighed a plastic dorsil fin: just over 7 lbs. We weighed the new dorsil fin: just under 3 lbs. There is just over a 4 lb weight savings. Dave is also going to make one carbon-fiber dorsil fin, vacuum bagged. Should get the weight down in the 1 1/2 lb range. Now, if the extra weight savings means anything to you, the extra $200 won't mean a thing. Gary

Might also affect the standard VHF antennae.... gil in Tucson At 09:01 AM 5/6/2004, you wrote: >--> TeamGrumman-List message posted by: TeamGrumman@aol.com > >We fitted the first Dorsil fin yesterday.
