Sorry if I've offended anybody who thinks that flying a plane is like driving a car... -----Original Message----- From: Bruce Firstman [mailto:n81218@yahoo.com] Subject: RE: Edge-of-the-envelope maneuvers You must have had a dream that you were in a suicide flight and that you are a hero and the star of a movie because no one would be stupid enough to consiously fly an airplane under the conditions you describe and then brag about it like you have. Get a life Bruce Firstman ...................................................................... Brad's Somewhat Measured Response... This certainly isn't for somebody who isn't trained and competent in aerobatics. If you only feel safe doing 45 degree-bank turns and your CFI only taught you approaches to stalls then you shouldn't even think about such things. My CFI (17 years ago) was a 3,000 hour F-16 pilot who taught me how to go to the limits, without exceeding them and knowing how to recover when things go wrong; whether upright, inverted or whatever. But to each their own. My intent wasn't to brag; but to share an experience that others' might learn from (and NOT emulate). ...Brad. P.S. If you're another one about to flame me... Please read that last sentence... It's not about me... It's about you. ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 10:38:16 PM PST US From: TeamGrumman@aol.com Subject: Re: TeamGrumman-List: Dorsal Fins --> TeamGrumman-List message posted by: TeamGrumman@aol.com In a message dated 05/07/04 9:59:51 AM, TeamGrumman@aol.com writes: > OK, I plan to locate my GPS antenna(s) on the glare shield.=A0 > As it turns out, Dave's son works for Scaled Composites. He told me they use fiberglas on the Spaceship One where the antennas go because carbon is as opaque to radio waves as is aluminum. So, I'll have a fiberglas dorsil fin.
