A couple of months ago, someone was asking for automotive equivalents for
the paint reference numbers on our aircraft. I believe they were looking
for the equivalent white paint, and I saved that email. I was wondering if
anyone knew an equivalent for Madrid Red?

Steve .... Madrid Red seems to be DuPont 6543-A
This is from 1977 Parts Manual, but is also true for 78 and 79.
I doubt they changed the color for the same name.
good luck ... gil A
PS I had the local DuPont auto paint dealer match my Yellow in Centari
enamel. The factory used Imron for the White, but Centari for the colors.
Took in the ELT cover - the match was perfect.

Sorry,
I should have said I had the Imron numbers. I guess what I'm really looking
for is a decent spray can paint that's gonna match. I've got a small lower
cowl repair that I'm trying to paint to match. I tried some of the Randolph
spray enamel from Spruce, since they have Madrid Red, but that paint really
sucks--and I don't want to use it.
Someone had a GM Automotive Paint # for the Grumman White, and I thought
there might be a similar automotive # for Madrid Red.
Thanks for the help,
Steven Jackson
