He could possibly look into "what's going on" up there if you need him. He may have more of the inside scoop than Mr Airport Mgr is willing to tell or knows..... he knows everybody. Let me know... Vi and I will be up there (WJF) tomorrow, Friday the 13th to get Vi's airplane, around 3:30 or so. Gary ________________________________ Message 3 _____________________________________ Time: 10:45:13 PM PST US From: "Steven Jackson" Subject: TeamGrumman-List: Delamination Repair --> TeamGrumman-List message posted by: "Steven Jackson" Doing my annual, and my mechanic had a question for the masses regarding how to place the rivets to repair delamination on my stabilizer. The middle rib of my right stab has delaminated from the leading edge back to about half-way on the underside. We know the repair calls for flush rivets to be driven, but he's curious as to how you place flush rivets through the skin, since the skin is too thin to countersink, and to dimple the skin would require removing the skin. He knows there's a method to get the things in place, but the technique required escapes him. He wanted me to post the question so we could make the repair...
