All of the lifts should be about the same. Remove the rockers, push rods, and lifters. Thoroughly clean everything with carb cleaner. When you disassemble the lifters, (you are using the overhaul manual, right?) make damn sure you keep the lifter parts together where they came from. They are custom fitted. When everything is clean and dry, put the lifters back in. Measure the lift at the lifter. Rotate the engine backwards or the oil pump will start refilling the lifters and mess up your measurements.
