Guys,
Does anyone know if this STC still available??
Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation and Gulfstream American AA-5; A11EA SA66NW
Installation of VA-4 fiberglass wheel fairings. Issued 9/4/73. NW Van's
Aircraft Route 2, Box 187 Forest Grove, OR 97116 Airframe
Vans VA-4 fairings are not listed in his present catalog, but are
probably still available (especially used, as RVers upgrade to the later,
lower drag pants)
I still wonder if Van used to own a Grumman - there are many
similarities between the Cheetah/Tiger and the RV-6, etc.
This appears to be a STC owned directly by Vans Aircraft.
...gil in Tucson - working on kitchen remodels, instead
of going to the CopperState fly-in...:

Fletcher bought this STC from Van Grunsven. They are nice fairings (much
simpler and better looking than the Grumman fairings). I had a set on a
AA-1 Yankee that I owned.

Van doesn't sell them and never really did much as far as I know. They have
their own fairings for the RV's. Apparently Fletcher changed the number.

Cliff,
You mean this Vans STC was for a "Grumman-custom" wheel pant?
I thought it was to adapt an existing (RV4?) Vans part to other
aircraft...... Vans still owns an STC to fit these pants on a couple of
Piper models....
VA-4 is an early Vans part number....
gil in Tucson (very, very slowly building an RV-6A....:
)
