They were narrower and more streamlined and mounted with a very simple steel bracket under two of the lower bolts that attach the axle bracket to the fiberglass gear leg. Of course they had no lead weight in the nose and were lighter weight and they also had an enclosed rear bulkhead aft of the tire, so they were more rigid. The biggest difference is that they were fiberglass and did not need the complex and expensive pivoting bracket and doubler plates that the flimsy plastic fairings need. They probably could be sold for 1/3 the cost of the factory fairings or less. I almost bought the STC and molds from Van years ago and wish I had of now. I have Fletcher's tooling for the wheel pants. I've had the tooling for several months. Dave (Composite Dave) made up a set of wheel pants from the tooling to see if they'd fit. Garner promised me some (either) drawings or hardware or both plus a=20set of gear legs/hardware to trial fit a set so I (Composite Dave) could start making them for Fletcher. I still don't have the hardware. How about everyone calling Dave and Garner and remind them that I'm waiting for the hardware. I also plan to make some mods and see if I can get them included in the existing STC. Gary
