Gary,
Thanks for returning my call yesterday. I know you come highly
recommended.
The following is a list of squawks that I have with my 74 Traveler
with a HC engine.
I will need to discuss with you the prioritys after the annual
inspection is complete to make sure that I can pay for the must have
done stuff before doing the stuff I would like to have done. If you
could give me a ball park figure on the time and materials to repair the
follwing Items I would appreciate it.
1. Cigarette Lighter inoperative.
1. I troubleshot this and found no voltage being applied
from the connection at the master switch, when master switch is turned
on. I found the Fuse in the bundle but it was good, there was no power
on the input side of the fuse holder. Request an estimate on repair
cost.
2. Left wing Position light has missing screw and retain clip. Some
screws appear to be the wrong type.
2. Request an estimate on repair cost.
3. Nose wheel "O" ring at top of wheel to the strut is torn, also I
get a high speed shimy when taking off at about 65 MPH. during landings
I keep the nose off the ground so its not noticable.
3. This was replaced on the last annual as well, but
didn't last to long.Maybe the side ways tension is off? Request
estimate to repair.
4. Exhaust pipe bracket left front needs repair (very minor). Owner
will show it to mechanic.
4. Request an estimate on repair cost.
5. ADF is basically inoperative. Perhaps it should be removed with
antenna.
5. Request estimate on cost to remove ADF and antenna, and
fill antenna area to maintain flight worthiness. Owner to fix cockpit
panel after removal.
6. Spark plugs need to be cleaned and inspected.
6. Is this part of the annual inspection anyway? Please
advice if new ones are needed.
7. Nose wheel tire seems worn.
7. Please estimate cost to replace tire, parts and labor.
8. Engine Instrument lighting is inoperative on co-pilot side.
8. The "brow" lighting over the engine instruments on
co-pilots side is not working, it may have a bad bulb. It was working
not long ago. Please estimate cost of repair.
9. Fuel gauge lights inoperative.
9. I trouble shot this and found that the wires to the
fuel gauge lights have been cut. The lights have been removed. Please
estimate cost of repair.

I'm working on wheel pants. Odds are, they'll cost more than $300.

From: WILLIAM KELLY
Subject: Breaking in Brakes
Hi All,
The annual inspection on my AA1C was just completed and I have new brake pads.
What is the break in procedure (Gary), if any, that is most common? Thanks.
