--> TeamGrumman-List message posted by: David Troup <david@troup.net> Gotta respond to that...in the spirit of equal access... At least Kerry could take on the role of an airline pilot - he holds a current second class medical certificate and is rated in single & multiengine aircraft. Bush hasn't flown as a pilot in 30 years as far as I know. I seem to remember that Bush couldn't be bothered to renew his medical or show up to duty. If he were flying, he'd take the plane to El Paso while telling the passengers repeatedly that they were on the way to New York, and that he believed it was New York and therefore it must be so. :-) Let's not start posting politically slanted messages on this list, it's not an appropriate forum and it just riles people up for no reason. --> TeamGrumman-List message posted by: Robinson Charles Col AAC/XP <charles.robinson@eglin.af.mil> David, I was with you in keeping the forum "A-political" but you then did exactly what you claimed to oppose. Equal access requires correct facts and yours aren't. According to Air Guard rules, members needed to amass 50 points per year to meet requirements-points were awarded based on the number of days served. According to President's military records (Senator Kerry refuses to release his), the President amassed over 250 points in the years in question. As for physical exams, they are required each year in the military (just like the FAA), and you have to get it within the window of the 2 months prior to, and the end of, your birth month. As President Bush's birthday is July 6th, he had until the 31st of July to get his physical. That was one of the keys to knowing any letter saying he didn't get his physical 'on time' in May was a forgery...which it was. Now if you asked the Senator what he thought, he'd probably respond, "I actually voted for getting the physical exam, before I voted against it." Let's get back to discussing planes and flying... I know a guy who's the security officer for HMX-1, which is the Marine helo squadron that flies the Presidential helicopters. Anyway, he said the Pres logged a .3 on that flight to the Abraham Lincoln in the S-3 Viking.
