Hi,
New member here looking for information on Tigers. I'm looking to buy my
first plane and have most of my time in Cherokees with about 30+ hours in
172's also, but I'm partial to low wing aircraft. I haven't had an
opportunity to fly a Tiger yet, but from everything that I've read they
have several things going. Speed, complexity (less of it), and
enthusiastic owners.
I've seen that Indy Aero is selling a couple of fairly new Tigers that have
been used as trainers by Vincennes University and they claim to have
already sold a half a dozen this year. Anybody on the list that has
purchased one of these and would be willing to provide some feedback?
I'm based out of Buchannan Field in Concord (KCCR) and would like to hook
up with someone there who wouldn't mind bragging about their Tiger... I've
seen a few of them on the field and I know that there is someone there
selling 1/4 shares in a '76.
Responses on or off-line would be appreciated.

When were youthere? I was there on Friday. I checked out the Legacy they
had on display inside. Pretty interesting. Also, the roller lifter cam was
on display. I talked to LyCon today aboout seeing if they can get some cam
specs. I'd be curious to see what the new cam does on the dyno. Ken also
told me they had an IO360 at Reno that dynoed at 280hp. That's my kind of
power!

I just did an annual on a VU Tiger. It was OK. The paperwork was pretty
fair. I found a few transposed times, but not too bad. The plane had old
avionics and no wheel pants. Also, the interior was marginal. Plan on
spending about $20-30 grand to make it comparable to its peers.

Finally. I got the foam core installed and all the pieces assembles.
Well, mostly. The cowling is mounted on my Tiger. There are still a few fine
tunings to do before I can fly it. I'll be interesting. For sure.
