They are horizontal. Are these Mitchel Gauges? Did you use their mounting box and just have them install them in the box horizontally instead of vertically? Look at the Tiger I did (also on my web site). That one used the stock gauges in the stock mount, modified to mount horizontally. Rather than carve out square holes, we used round ones.
