However, I was flying back to Auburn yesterday at 6500 feet and was wondering how fast I'd be going at 65% power. So, throttle back, mixture, stablize at 6500 feet, here is what I wrote down for speeds. 65% power 6500 feet 2525 to 2535 rpm 8.7 to 9.7 gal/hr 49 OAT 122-125 knots indicated GPS shows 135-136 True air speed calcs at 136-138 knots so, I flew that until I was about 80 miles from Auburn and then descended to 4500 feet. I set up again for the same conditions. 65% power 4500 feet 2500 to 2530 rpm 9.2 to 9.7 gal/hr 52 OAT 125-129 knots indicated GPS shows 138-142 True air speed calcs at 137-139 knots MAP 21.2 to 21.5 So, I'm pretty happy with it.
