So far, I'm very pleased with the engine. I had it port/polished with new cylinders and it dynoed at a little over 200 hp. I've really noticed the performance in climb and cruise and it performs really well. The only issue I had with Lycon is that the overhaul took a little longer than planned. It wasn't much of an issue as I was having other work done at the time. The only other issue I can think of is that I burn more fuel than before. Not much, maybe a gallon or three per hour, but I'm able to run th eengine much harder (higher rpm) then before and am cruising much faster than before. If you have any questions please let me know. Ken, at Lycon, was very easy to deal with... My current engine has the same 920 hours on it that my '79 airframe does and is starting to show it's age a bit. Regretably this means a the mid-time overhaul. Of course I could look at it as my engine going to twice Lycomings overhaul spec of 12 years for a glass is half full viewpoint;) I'd like to have an engine ready to swap in by maybe November/Dec (a little before my annual is up but to keep the down-time to the winter months). I have no reason to suspect that Lycon would do anything but a completely top-notch job from everything Gary has told me and everything I've read (Aviation Consumer last month ). I certainly appreciate your feedback on them. Did you do the port/polish? If so, how do you feel about the results of that?
