    Subject: Cowling update
--> TeamGrumman-List message posted by: TeamGrumman@aol.com I've just about finished all of the paperwork for the STC. Next step is the FAA. Last weekend I went flying and blew out the end cap on the muffler. Stuff happens. Anyway, it cooked the paint a little yellow/brown. Fortunately, Dave's concerns (he's my composite guy) about the effects of heating the cowling in the area of the muffler and having it deform the fiberglass has been successfully tested and it passes the test. Rather than replace the muffler, I ordered the new powerflow. Wish me luck. Gary

--> TeamGrumman-List message posted by: "James Courtney" <jamey@jamescourtney.net> I think I can safely answer yes for Gary here. My recollection is he was somewhat aesthetically prejudiced against the old Powerflow model with the substantial protrusion...
