I have sent out about 8 purchase agreements. No deposits yet. Here's the deal. Most have asked that they get the cowing in kit form and install it themselves. The DER says I have to have the paperwork, drawings and instructions complete and clear enough so that anyone can install it. I hesitate to let just anyone install the cowling because I want all of them to work, fit, cool, and perform perfectly. I have 5 years and $50,000 invested in this and would hate to see it not work. I just took 300 pictures of my cowling to a draftman to have them digitized and engineering drawings made from them. The cooling tests are supposed to start in a couple of months. I already made the deposit on the cowlings refundable. I will throw in the split upper cowling (you still need to suply the hinge) and make it so you can install it yourself. Please just make sure you call if you have any questions. Once the cowling is approved, the price goes to $8000. You should be able to sell your cowling to someone wwho just wants a workable cowling. Also, if you know anyone with a pre-75 Traveler that wants a new cowling, I need one to convert for testing. I'll probably need the plane for 3 months or so. After the Traveler is converted, it might be easier to go with a later cowling than to go back to the original. Just a heads up. Gary
